Summer Challenge: Day 5

WORD COUNT: 7, 039

1. DID I WRITE TODAY? Yes, off and on for a couple of hours. I could've written more if my family didn't insist on eating. :)

2. DID I "LET IT FLOW"? No, to be honest I mostly edited. My critique group meets this Saturday, and I haven't submitted anything lately, so I want to get the first five pages as polished as possible. But I do feel like I made progress on these pages.

3. DID I QUERY ANYONE? Yes, I'm proud to say I queried two agents today.

What about YOU? Been writing lately or taking a break? How do you plan to spend your summer?

As long as there is progress, that's a good thing. And I'm crossing my fingers for you!

My family likes to eat too! I still managed to get a little writing and blogging done as well!

I've sent out a few queries and am in waiting mode right now. This summer, I hope for good news and a major revision on my next WIP. :-)

Does your critique group do only five pages at a time? Man, that would take a long time to get through the whole book. We do 10, but even then we get caught in the "ten page effect" where you're really not sure what's going on, because you're only reading those 10 pages in the middle somewhere.

Laurence- We can send up to ten, but there's just no way I'm gonna be able to get ten ready this time. I know what you mean about the ten-page effect, even doing that many at a time, it still take awhile.

Oh man. No. I haven't been. I'm taking summer courses and they are killing me! I was planning to be done my MS on June 1st... that SO didn't happen. Only three more weeks and then I have a week long break.

I'm planning on that being a very productive week.

But you look like you've had a very productive week.

Congratulations! Keep up the good work and YAY on querying two agents!

Ah, that pesky eating thing. :) I'm in the process of editing the last fourth of my book. Planning on finishing that this summer. Good luck with your summer challenge!

My goal/dream/plan is to get my MS good enough so I can start querying again--been out of the game (and rightfully so!) since winter. I think I'm finally getting somewhere with the MS--let's hope!
